about Sweet Salvations

Kathy--After retiring from 25 years in corporate America, it turned out that Sweet Salvations was the creative outlet I needed. Discovering the unexpected pleasure in taking really old stuff and turning into something worthwhile was the beginning. Next came the desire to connect with a community of fellow junkers, who also appreciate the search, the acquisition and the beautification of truly cool junk. So follow along with Bob and I (the most patient husband ever) as as we share adventures, ideas and accomplishments at a site designed to connect this ragtag community of artists.

Chris--I have a love for old stuff and new adventures. Both Mike (my husband) and my teenage girls love garage sales – from Washington to Illinois, and anywhere in between. We love to find the perfect item that may need a little love, care, or a new paint job. It is fun to recreate some item that has lost its way and make it part of a household again. I, like Kathy, also appreciate the community of junkers, people who have a special eye for design, old items, and creative ways. Hope to meet you along our travels sharing stories and experiences.
